When Kate Winslet showed up to the Venice Film Festival in this Stella McCartney miracle dress, the first thing we all noticed was how tiny her waist looked. You’d be forgiven for wondering which miracle diet/undergarment was responsible for her perfect curves, but on closer inspection you’ll realize that this smartly tailored number uses a form of optical illusion. It cleverly mixes colour-blocking to sculpt and highlight Kate’s waist and boasted cream, nude and black panelling that hugged her curves to perfection.

“X Factor” judge Nicole Scherzinger also adorned the cover of InStyle UK in this sexy and figure flattering dress while Victoria Beckham and Kim Kardashian have been photographed wearing an Alexander McQueen design that uses black lines on a white dress to create the impression of an hourglass.
